Macromedia Fireworks and Adobe Photoshop, which one better?
When I started my webpage design journey, I will came accross a very serious problem, which I need to clarify it as fast as possible, so that I won’t be learning the wrong software at the beginning. I came accross that there are a lot of graphics design and touch-up software that are available in the market nowadays. But there are two commonly used one, which is called Macromedia Fireworks and Adobe Photoshop. However, I cannot master both of them in a short limit of time, therefore I decided to do some short research on both of the software, to find out “Which one is better to use for webpage design? Either Macromedia Fireworks or Adobe Photoshop?”
After some research, I found out that we can’t really compare between Macromedia Fireworks and Adobe Photoshop, due to both of the softwares are created based on different purpose. It’s like comparing an apple with an orange! Macromedia Fireworks is superior in creating images and graphics to display on webpages. Due to webpages requires smaller and not so high resolutions images, so that they can be loaded on to the user’s browser as fast as possible. Meanwhile Adobe Photoshop are superior on using to touch-up high resolutions pictures, that used for photo printing.
So, I had made my decision to learn Macromedia Fireworks 8 (the latest version of Fireworks in year 2008), as I’m focusing on webpage design.
