Common Technical Terms used in Internet (Part 1)
In the world of internet, there are some commonly used technical terms that you might need to understand before you start your internet business journey. I will explain the terms in a very simple manner, so that everyone can understand and remember it easily.
First of all, the most important thing is: “What is Internet?” . Internet is build up by the linkage between thousands and thousands group of computer networks. Where computer networks are formed by the linkage of two or more computers together through internet access. Therefore, there are thousands and millions of computers all over the world that being linked together each day to exchange informations, graphics and digital datas. Your computer at home can be part of this networks of computer, as long as you have internet access account from your local Internet Service Provider (ISP). After you have your internet access account, you will need a modem and telephone line in order to dial up to a special number that provided by your ISP. Then your computer will have internal software that will automatically hook you into the internet. The speed that you are able to transfer files, exchange informations and digital datas are highly depending on your computer and internet connection speed.
“What is Domain Name?” Domain name act as an address for whatever informations or product and services that you are providing. Let’s say you are selling clothes online, and you would like customers to visit your online store to make purchase. Therefore, domain name acts as an address that able to link customers to your online store. Domain name looks something like http://www.google.com, http://www.yahoo.com, etc.
“What is Websites?” Websites are brochures that designed by webpage designer, to provide customer with enough informations, so that it will convinced them to make a purchase on product and services that being provided.
