Pay Per Click Archives

Up until now, you should probabily understand what is Pay Per Click (PPC) advertising. Should you still don’t have a clear picture on what PPC is all about, kindly refer back to my previous post here. In short, Pay Per Click advertising is a kind of online advertising method that allows advertiser to advertise their business in the search engine, and pay search engine a certain amount of money once a visitor clicks on your ads. As an advertiser, you might need to consider seven(7) of the important things below, before starting a pay per click campaign:

1) Know Your Product First

This step is to make sure that you totally understand the product and/or services that you are providing. Some of the advertisers are promoting their own products, meanwhile some of them are promoting other people’s products and earn commissions after a successful sales have been made (so called Affiliate Marketing). Therefore, it is quite crucial to understand the benefits and features of that product and/or services.

2) Stay Within Your Budget

Determine your daily or monthly budget and stay with it. This to keep your budget in mind, and to avoid over bidding on your keywords or phrases.

3) Bid Just Right

Before the bidding, it is advised to read out some books or do some research on Pay Per Click so that you know how to bid right. A bid that is too high can exhaust all of your money very fast, meanwhile a bid that is too low can make you lose that spot.

4) Watch The Bottom Line

Measure your profit margin against your spending or expenses. Know when to stop and terminate your PPC program. If you spend too much on advertising, you might end up with having little or no profit margin at all.

5) Find the Right Keywords

Decide which keyword phrases to opt and bid for. Do some keyword research, either by actually looking at existing search terms or with the use of online keyword suggestion tools, to know which terms are mostly used when searching for items that are related to your business. Focus on specific keywords, not on general ones. Some of the useful FREE keyword research tools are Google Adwords: Keyword Tool, SEO Book Keyword Suggestion Tool, Wordtracker, and others which are available in the internet.

6) Write Effective Ads

A good PPC ad is that which can persuade and catch the attention of a searcher. You may try some of the several approaches:

  • Discount Offers
  • Free Trials or Sample Offers
  • Freebies
  • Direct Instructions (“Purchase”, “Buy”)

7) Maintain A Professional-Looking Web Site

Your web content should be regularly updated and checked for spelling and grammatical errors. There should be no broken links or images. The website should be simple, so that it will be easy for visitors to navigate and load. Include contact details to create a good impression among potential customers.

There are lots of benefits of using Pay Per Click (PPC) to promote your business. It doesn’t matter whether you are having your business online and/or offline, this technique is applicable to you as long as you have a well developed web page. I will just list down four of the benefits of using PPC advertising: -

1) Get Immediate Traffic (Visitors) to your Web Page

Once you implement Pay Per Click advertisements to your business, within 10 minutes time, your ad will start running on the search engine, and you can immediately see visitors coming to visit your websites!! (Provided the ad copy, keywords and cost per click are selected correctly)

2) Pre-qualified Your Visitors and Filter Out the Unnecessary Visitors

This is highly depending on the ways you write your ad copy. If your ad are written correctly, it helps a lot to filter out those unnecessary visitors, which gives you are more targetted and quality traffic. Visitors that are narrowed down are people who are actually looking for specific products and/or services that you are offering. Therefore this will more likely to convert these targetted visitors into sales. For example, Your ad’s headline is “Downloadable Ringtone for $9.99″, therefore visitors that are looking for Free Downloadable Ringtone or Ringtone that cost lower than $9.99 will not click on your ads.

3) PPC Advertising will Widen Your Search

Most of the nicely developed web page will apply keywords and/or meta tags on their web page. This is to allow search engine software to notice the existence of your web page, and it will appear in the organic search engine (This is known as Search Engine Optimization Method). Pay Per Click is another way for you to get extra traffic to your web page.
