There are a lot of ways to make money through blogging. Here, I will just share a few that are commonly used, but not limited just to these few: -

1) Market Your Own Product

This method is applicable, provided you have your own physical product that are ready to be sell online. You can setup a blog explaining about the benefit and features of your product, it can be say health suppliments, fashion, food, etc. Then you can also can update visitors with your up and coming products, so that visitors are able to get information and updates on the market that they are interested in.

When the explaination of products are good, there are high chances that visitors want to purchase and use your products. Therefore, you can setup a purchasing forms or shopping cart in your blog, so that visitors can pick their desired products and proceed to payments and purchase.

2) Be An Affiliate and Market Other People’s Product

There are many affiliate network that you can join. You can promote their products and get paid based comission stated in each and every product that are available. For those who are interested in promoting digital products, such as ebook, software, etc, you might want join ClickBank. Or maybe you are interested in physical electrical products and books, then you can consider Amazon affiliate network to join.

3) Put up Google Adsense

Google Adsense is a very useful tool to let blogger to earn some extra pocket money. Google Adsense is normally placed at the side of the blog, either left hand side or right hand side. Google Ads will automatically generate advertisements that related to the content of your blog post. Blogger will earn money whenever visitors click on the advertisement. The earnings are just a few sens, but if your blog is driving thousands and thousands of visitors a day, then imagine how much extra can you earn by just using Google Ads?

4) Review Product and Get Paid

This method is just applicable to bloggers that are getting thousands and thousands of visitors daily. Advertisers will automatically come and seek for you, and they are willing to pay bloggers to write short review on their product or services.

5) Ask for Donation or Free Tip from Visitors

This is a very straight forward method, just ask a donation or free tip from your blog visitors, so that you get motivated on updating the blog frequently. Normally this will be just a very small amount of money, ranging from USD1 to USD4. The keyword here is “ASK”, and you might get what you want (donation from visitors).

Blog is a website that created by it’s owner (blogger) that being updated regularly, based on topic that is interested by the creator. It is presented as a journal or diary style, which can be viewed by any visitors through the internet.

Each of the blog posts are written in reverse method, meaning to say the latest post on the top and the earlier post will be push down automatically. There are a few reasons, why blogger created a blog at the first place: -

a) To provide news on the hottest topic – Any updated news that are available will spread out almost instantly by using the internet. Unlike newspapers that will only give you updates on the next day.

b) Able to give and receive comments – Most of the bloggers are able to make friends easily by discussing a certain topics. Such as latest movie available in the cinema, say movie A. When blogger commented on movie A in his/her blog, then visitors will come and give their opinion or supportive when they are agree or disagree with blogger’s content. The interaction between blogger and visitors, bloggers can easily find visitors with the same interest and become friends.

c) To keep a personal yet public diary – Some of the bloggers like to share their personal things to the public, to let others know more about themselves. Such as their daily life, what do they learned throughout the day, and etc.

There are some blogging platform that are available in the market. The most that I heard of is blogspot.com and wordpress blog. At a fast glance of the difference between these two is, blogspot is a free to use platform, and you can setup a blog in just a few minutes. While wordpress required some payment to setup.

About a year ago, when I’m still learning Internet Marketing skills from my guru, suddenly a question just pop into my mind, “Do I need to pay Income Tax for earnings that I get purely  from Internet?” Without hasitation, I straight away seek for advise from my guru. The answer that I got is:” You do not need to pay any tax on income that you earn purely from the internet. But you still need to declaire and submit the list of earnings to Lembaga Hasil Dalam Negeri (LHDN). For instance, your paypal statements or other statements that prove the earnings came purely from the internet.”

After I got this answer, I still not very convinced (typical engineer mindset, which need to dig deeper into solutions). So, I went to seek for more informations through forums and other government websites. At last, I had found something interesting that really convinced me on the answer that given by my guru. The answer is found through LHDN website at http://www.hasil.org.my/english/eng_NO2_1_1A.asp

According to the website, it says: –

1. For Resident Individual

A Resident individual is assessable on income derived from sources in Malaysia and income received in Malaysia from outside Malaysia. W.e.f. Y/A 2004 income remitted into Malaysia from overseas by a resident individual, a trust body, a cooperative and a Hindu Joint Family be exempted from income tax

Further down, I also found this statement: -

12. Income Remitted from Outside Malaysia

With effect from the year of assessment 2004, income derived from outside Malaysia and received in Malaysia by resident individual is exempted from tax.

However, it is still advised to seek for professional advise on income tax exemption, to avoid any unnecessary problem that arise later on. I have to mention that, this post is written based on my personal research and only can be used as a reference.
